Night of the Living Dead Began Previews October 21

By:

The world-stage premiere of Night of the Living Dead began previews Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Stella Adler Theatre (Hollywood, Calif.) with opening night set for Thursday, October 26, 2006.

"Just when you thought it was safe to go on living...  A mysterious form of radiation appears in outer space near Earth, just as gangs of rampaging, bloodthirsty, flesh-eating zombies are spotted around the country. Could the two circumstances possibly be related?" states a press release.

Mancini Graves portrays Ben, a truck driver who comes to the aid of a beautiful young woman, Sierra Fisk (Barbara), pursued by the murderous undead who have just killed and devoured her brother.

Rounding out the ensemble is Raymond Alvarez, Brian Barth, Drew Boronkay, Riley Boronkay, Sofia Boronkay, Erin Cummings, Sylvan De LaFeuille, JJ Dubon, Michael Flowers, Gloria Galvon, Missy Hairston, Matthew Heron, Trent Hopkins, Robert Hughes, Alex Knudsen, Dion Lack, Angelica Lopez, Laura Liguori, Bob Mitsch, Daniel Paul, Blake Petitclair, Samantha Pollington, Stephanie Roche, Rob Saunders and Ashley Woods.

Adapted for the stage by L.A. Weekly Award-nominated playwright Leon Shanglebee, this Gangbusters Theatre Company production of the 1968 George A. Romero film, is produced and directed by Christian Levatino.  The play features Emmy Award-winner Roger Ambrose's production design, sound design by Michael Flowers, original music by David Holden, lighting design by Fontaine and sound engineering by Anthony Annatone.  The production is executive produced by Kevin Ragsdale who recently produced the motion picture of David Mamet's Edmond, starring William H. Macy.

A noteworthy feature of all Gangbuster productions is the free beer offered to (strictly) adult patrons, which has doubled audience attendance, according to Levatino.

Tickets are available in person at the Stella Adler Theatre Box Office, located at 6773 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood CA, 90028, by phone at (323) 960-1056 and online at www.Plays411.com/livingdead.  The ticket price is $20 at the door, $15 with advance reservation, $12 for students and seniors.  Previews are $10.  The production is set to run through Sunday, December 3, 2006.
