
Broadway continues its 2011-2012 season momentum. In addition to the 19 shows that have already opened this season – joining the 17 long-running shows currently playing on the boards - over 16 more shows have announced opening dates this spring, with more expected to announce.
The Broadway League announces three new Officers elected to its Board of Governors: Nick Scandalios as Chairman of the Board, Albert Nocciolino as Vice Chairman of the Road, and Robert E. The Broadway League membership includes theatre owners, producers, presenters from around the country, press agents, general managers, booking agents, advertising agencies, and industry specialists who represent the various shops that construct scenery, costumes and props.

Bob Wankel’s tenure and leadership at The Shubert Organization which owns 17 out of 40 Broadway theatres along with his affiliations with Times Square Alliance and numerous educational and charitable organizations brings a vast level of experience and we appreciate his time and dedication.”
Nick Scandalios is the Executive Vice President of the Nederlander Organization, one of the largest owners of legitimate theatres in the world, as well as one of the largest theatrical producing organizations in North America. He is the Chairman of The Broadway League and on the Board of Trustees for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Vice Chairman of Family Equality Council. This year will mark his 25th anniversary with the Nederlander Organization. Nederlander owns or operates theatres in New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; San Diego, CA; San Jose, CA; Riverside, CA; Tucson, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Durham, NC and London, England.
