New Musical by Sheik and Jarrow to Premiere in CT, '08-'09

By:

Variety reports that a new musical by Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik and Kyle Jarrow (Off-Broadway's A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant) will be one of three productions commissioned by the Stamford Center for the Arts.

The Connecticut-based house, led by Executive Director Kenneth A. Wesler, will also run productions of Frank McGuinness' The Bird Sanctuary, directed by Kent Paul and starring Tony-winner Elizabeth Franz, and Jan de Hartog's The Four Poster, directed by Keith Powell and starring Jasmine Guy and Keith David. A third show will be announced shortly.

Sheik and Jarrow's production will be based on "ghost stories set in a Connecticut lighthouse during World War II." The show is scheduled to run in the Stamford Center's 2008-09 season.
