In anticipation of its New York presentation with the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) this July, producers Jorge de la Garza and German Cavazos will present a special concert version of the new musical Children of Salt, music by Jaime Lozano and book and lyrics by Lauren Epsenhart, with arrangements & orchestrations by Jesús Altamira and Jaime Lozano, musical direction by Geraldine Anello and musical supervision by Zach Dietz, starring Mauricio Martinez and Florencia Cuenca, on Monday, June 6 at 9:30pm at The Metropolitan Room (34 W 22nd Street). Tickets are $24-$115 and can be purchased by calling 212.206.0440 or by visiting metropolitanroom.com.

Based on the play Los Niños De Sal by Mexican playwright Hernán Galindo, Children of Salt follows the story of Raúl, a successful entrepreneur who returns to the Mexican beaches of his youth only to be greeted by the memories that prompted him to flee twenty years prior. Reunited with his childhood friends, he must look to his past to move into his future. With its classic Latin rhythms Children of Salt is the timeless tale of love, loss and the human capacity to hope.

Jaime Lozano and Lauren Epsenhart, met at New York University's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and since have been writing and collaborating on several musicals. Children of Salt was their very first project and they have continued to refine the piece since it's inception at NYU. They will be joined by a cast of some of the most important Broadway-Latino performers to date, including a 12-piece band, for an evening of selections from the musical, as they take you through the journey of the music, book and lyrics.
