New discoveries about Alexander Hamilton that are sure to enthrall Hamilton scholars and fans of the Broadway musical Hamilton will be revealed at Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University on Thursday, July 7. Never before seen documents related to the first United States Secretary of the Treasury will be unveiled and a major story about Hamilton, embraced by most Hamilton authors as fact, will be completely refuted.

Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University, the historic home of New Jersey's first elected governor William Livingston, is the second stop on the Young Immigrant Hamilton Tour, which is part of the CelebrateHAMILTON 2016 program. The presentation, New Hamilton Discoveries, will be conducted by Director of Liberty Hall Museum Operations Bill Schroh; Hamilton scholar Michael E. Newton; and The Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society President Rand Scholet and Vice President Nicole Scholet de Villavicencio. Original documents that reveal new details in the life and times of Hamilton and have never been viewed by the public or yet catalogued in any public database will be on hand. The presentation will take place twice - at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

"The Livingston and Kean families have a long history with Alexander Hamilton and we are very excited to present 18th century documents related to this relationship today," said Schroh.

The annual CelebrateHAMILTON program, held by The Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society, explores Hamilton's life and legacy. The Young Immigrant Hamilton Tour visits historic sites associated with Hamilton's time in the Elizabethtown, New Jersey area as a young preparatory school student, having just emigrated from the Caribbean. While attending the Academy of Elizabethtown, Hamilton stayed with the Livingston family in Elizabethtown.

Admission to the New Hamilton Discoveries presentation is $10 in honor of the founding father and also includes a tour of the Liberty Hall Museum. Among the 50 rooms in Liberty Hall is the Alexander Hamilton room, honoring the relationship between Hamilton and the Livingston family. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online by visiting www.kean.edu/libertyhall/events or by calling 908-527-0400.
