Now in its 38th year, the People's Choice Awards are voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in music, movies and television. Kaley Cuoco was the host of the of the show tonight, and this year's winners have been announced!
Notably, Neil Patrick Harris - who led the star-studded production of Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY for the New York Philharmonic last year - was awarded "Favorite TV Comedy Actor" for How I Met Your Mother. Fellow nominees for the award included Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Chris Colfer (GLEE), Cory Monteith (GLEE) and Broadway-bound Jim Parsons, who's set to appear in Roundabout's HARVEY this spring, for his work in The Big Bang Theory.
Hugh Jackman was the People's Choice Award winner for "Favorite Action Movie Star." The actor wrapped up HUGH JACKMAN, BACK ON BROADWAY on January 1 and will begin rehearsals for a film adaptation of LES MISÉRABLES later this month. His possible co-star in the movie, Taylor Swift, won "Favorite Country Artist."
Broadway veteran and GLEE star Lea Michele picked up an award for her turn on the musical show; Courteney Cox (Cougar Town), Michele's GLEE co-star Jane Lynch, Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) and Tina Fey (30 Rock) were also nominated.
Daniel Radcliffe, who earlier this month finished his run in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING on Broadway, received nominations in two categories: "Favorite Movie Actor" and "Favorite Actor Under 25." The former went to Johnny Depp and the latter to Hugo's Chloe Moretz. Radcliffe's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, however, scooped up awards for all four film categories in which it was nominated, including "Best Book Adaptation" and "Favorite Movie."
