Katie Holmes, Diane Weist, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laurence Fishburne will be featured in the annual National Day Memorial Concert, broadcast live from the Nation's Capital. The special will air on PBS stations around the country May 24 beginning at 8 PM ET.

The concert will be co-hosted for the third year by Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna.

PBS notes that "this year's special tributes are to the veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam and the sacred war memorials built in their honor in the Nation's Capital. Actor Charles Durning, a highly decorated World War II veteran and 14-year National Memorial Day Concert participant, will be recognized for his bravery and sacrifice as part of the "Greatest Generation." The valor of the newest veterans will be honored as the program examines the lasting bonds that buddies form on the battlefields of Iraq."

Holmes and Weist will read a personal story penned by a U.S. veteran. The actresses were recently seen together in the broadway revival of ALL MY SONS.

Others scheduled to appear or perform include Colm Wilkinson, Katharine McPhee, Trace Adkins and General Colin Powell.
