Naked Girls Reading NYC Presents GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, 8/9

By:

On Tuesday, August 9th, NAKED GIRLS READING NYC - New York's "Best Story Hour" (The Village Voice Best of NY 2010) - celebrates the summer theatre season in the decadent boudoir setting of Greenwich Village's Madame X lounge, as the hit nude literary salon presents a special in-the-buff reading of Glengarry Glen Ross.

Nasty Canasta is joined by burlesque superstars Gal Friday, Sapphire Jones and Tansy, as the Naked Girls present David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1982 drama of cutthroat small-time Chicago real estate, as it was always meant to be seen. Naked Girls Reading kicks off fringe festival month in New York City by removing the fringe - along with everything else.

Guests to the salon are invited to relax in the plush velvet upstairs lounge at Madame X and sip a drink (try a "Cadillac," this month's featured Naked Girls Cocktail) as Nasty, Gal, Sapphire and Tansy share the full-frontal literature. $25 reserved seating is limited to 40 (and includes one drink from Madame X's 'Foreplay' menu), with a small number of standing room tickets available at $15 - or sweeten the deal with the "Closers" package: reserved seating and cocktails for two, for only $40! Purchase tickets in advance at www.NakedGirlsReadingNYC.com and get dramatic as only the Naked Girls can, as NAKED GIRLS READING NYC presents GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS - at Madame X on Tuesday August 9th at 8:00pm.

Naked Girls Reading began in Chicago in March 2009 as the creation of international showgirl Michelle L'Amour and Franky Vivid. The idea had rolled around in their heads for a few years in different formats, but with the opening of Studio L'Amour in 2008 it materialized as the perfect intimate live event. Naked Girls Reading now has branches across the country and around the world; the New York chapter, produced by Nasty Canasta of Sweet & Nasty Burlesque, was opened in October 2009 to great acclaim ("Great literature stripped bare" -Entertainment Weekly; "It was a remarkable experience." -Tor.com) and was named "New York's Best Story Hour" by the Village Voice in 2010.

• "Naked Girls Reading has clearly evolved into something more than just titillation. It is titillating, but after the first thrill of the initial disrobing, the pleasure of seeing beautiful women undressed fades besides the sense of intimacy achieved from someone bearing both their body and their soul at the same time." -Tor.com
