NYTB in the D-Lounge: NYTB in the D-Lounge is a monthly
event that is intended to showcase up-and-coming song-writers and performers,
and occasionally merges new artists with highly-established writers and
performers in the industry. The evening
is a fusion of cabaret, musical theatre and popular music—and is ultimately a
celebration of the artists involved. Some
evenings offer selections from our current projects as well as others we are in
the process of developing. In addition, the event is designed to also work as a
networking tool between the artists involved and the artists who attend the
event.
This evening is especially exciting for New York Theatre
Barn. This installment of NYTB in the D-Lounge will feature the music of two of
New York Theatre Barn's advisory board members, Brian Feinstein and Rob
Hartmann.

Big Fat Cat is an
edgy musical comedy for everyone who has wished upon a star and regretted it
for the rest of their lives. On her 37th birthday, Terry, a lonely but talented
anklet-maker at Spankle's Anklets, wishes for a man to give her life meaning.
Instead of a man, she gets Big Fat Cat, a stray cat with lousy manners and
questionable values. BFC decides to find her a man so she'll let him stay with
her. He sets his sights on Nathaniel, the city's 2nd most eligible bachelor.
However, he has competition: Totsy and Kit, Terry's beautiful but self-obsessed
co-workers (Mr. Spankle's daughters) are eager to win his heart, as is Harry,
Nathaniel's nebbish best friend. When Terry does snag Nathaniel, BFC helps her
realize wishes may come true but, like men, aren't the key to happiness. Please note: New York Theatre Barn will
produce a stage reading of Big Fat Cat
on December 7, 2007.

Fett

Adventure, Spectacle,
Mystery: The Music of Rob Hartman – 9:45PM
This set will feature music by composer Rob Hartmann
(Vanishing Point)
Lyrics by Rob Hartmann, Liv Cummins, Scott Keys, Sophie Jaff
Music Direction by Julianne Wick Davis
Featuring Jonathan Rayson (Little Shop Of Horrors, A
Year With Frog and Toad), Jason Michael Snow (Goodspeed's Pirates), Cristin Hubbard (The Pirate Queen, Chess), Stephanie Lynge (Beauty
and the Beast), Anna Stone, Ashley McHugh, Natalie Moore, and Mandi Gosling
The evening will highlight songs from Hartmann's musicals,
including the new musical Vanishing Point. Author Agatha Christie vanished for
eleven days in 1926; that same year, evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson vanished
for three weeks. Amelia Earhart disappeared during her 1937 round-the-world
flight. Amelia was never seen again; Agatha and Aimee never spoke of what
happened during their disappearances. A musical comedy-fantasy, Vanishing Point
brings these three women together on a road trip through time and space filled
with adventure, spectacle and mystery, as they recall their past and explore
their future, stepping in and out of one another's lives.
