The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the auditions for the 2011 NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition.
The singing competition returns for its sixth year and will take place at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street) on three subsequent Saturdays - September 17th, September 24th, and October 1st.
Produced by NYMF in association with New World Stages, this talent competition seeks to find the newest musical theatre star. Doors for the competition open at 10:30pm each evening.Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (Baby It's You!, The Drowsy Chaperone) will be on the judging panel on September 17th with Andrew Kober (Hair) as the host.Auditions for NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation will take place at Stage 2 of New World Stages on Thursday, September 8th from 12-6pm. The lobby will serve as the waiting room. NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation is open to singers aged 18 and over who have Broadway flair but no Broadway credits. Potential "Broadway Sensations" should prepare 16 bars of the show tune that best demonstrates their vocal chops.
