The 73rd Avenue Theatre presents
MACBETH
By William Shakespeare and Directed by Mellisa Taylor
The 73rd. Ave. Theatre Company presents Macbeth, March 18 to April 17. In 1920s New York City, Macbeth is a trusted ally and servant to Duncan, head of the New York Mafia. He makes a name for himself in battle against Duncan's Federal enemies, and is elevated in power by doing so. But after a seemingly chance encounter with three witches, who prophesy of greater things, Macbeth himself turns traitor. He will do whatever it takes to have it all.
The cast includes: Don Deveux as Duncan, Robert Kramer and Boni McIntyre as Lord and Lady Macbeth, Nathan Bock and Lindsey Chastain as Lord and Lady Macduff, Patrick Collins as Banquo, Miranda LeQuire and Chelsea Rossetto as Witches, Charleston James as Lennox, Dirk Gaboriault as Malcom, Dell Domnik as Ross and Russ Nielson as Seyton.
The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare about a regicide and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy and is believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607. The earliest account of a performance of what was likely Shakespeare's play is April 1611, when Simon Forman recorded seeing such a play at the Globe Theatre. It was first published in the Folio of 1623, possibly from a prompt book for a specific performance.
