"An unsettling but exhilarating blend of the hilarious with the horrifying!" - The Irish Times

"A triumph of suspense and staging, enacted unforgettably" (Variety), THE WALWORTH FARCE is a gripping story of a father, two sons, a stranger, blood ties and murder that is at once hilarious and shocking. Initially resembling a wildly hilarious Irish version of a quintessential Three Stooges routine, the widely celebrated production careens from comical moments to shocking realism, from madcap slapstick to the deeper, darker concerns that are revealed when an outsider enters the family circle. Audiences are entertained with rapid costume changes, cross-dressing moments, and mistaken identities.  THE WALWORTH FARCE transports audiences into the "twilight zone of one family's personal mythology: the anecdotes, the rituals, the lies, the wounding jokes that keep blood kin shackled together in irons that are stronger than truth" - The New York Times

THE WALWORTH FARCE was written by Enda Walsh, one of Ireland's hottest young playwrights, and is a commission of the renowned Druid Theater Company. One of the most innovative and thrilling playwrights of his generation and Edinburgh Fringe First Winner (2007 and 2008), Enda Walsh is internationally celebrated for his exhilarating wordplay and the visceral power of his stories. His newest play The New Electric Ballroom, also presented by Druid, has enjoyed similar global success and is on tour this autumn in Ireland and the US.
