On October 4, 2013, The New York Pops orchestra - famous for presenting popular programs with a symphony orchestra of the highest quality - will launch its 31st season, a Carnegie Hall series celebrating the stylistic diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons. Music Director Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - will lead the orchestra in a highly anticipated concert season including a night of jazz standards revitalized by international trumpet sensation Chris Botti; a tribute to big band legend Benny Goodman with Montego Glover and clarinetist Dave Bennett; a jolly holiday concert with stage star Ashley Brown; an intimate evening with Broadway's Golden Couple, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley; and a season closer featuring the orchestra and some of the most beloved music written for the silver screen.
"The New York Pops and I are delighted to announce next season's stellar line-up," says Music Director Steven Reineke. "We've put together an eclectic series of concerts that honor the orchestra's history while looking forward to its next chapter. I'm especially excited we have another opportunity to feature our incredible musicians. I do hope you'll join us for another memorable year."
