Millennium Theatre Presents Encore of THE WRESTLING SEASON, 7/12

The Wrestling Season, by Laurie Brooks, is a powerful, 90-minute examination of peer pressure's potentially devastating effects. With recent media attention squarely focused on our nation's teens and the harassment, bullying and intimidation they face daily, both in and out of school, Manchester's Millennium Theatre believed, with lives at stake, time was of the essence in producing the area premiere of this exciting and interactive theatre piece.

Franklin County Public Library's Young Adult Services director, Tina Stephens said that the initial response to the production was so positive and powerful, that a second showing has been books for those who missed it or were unable to get seats.

The Wrestling Season runs only one day: July 12 @ 1.30 pm at The Franklin County Public Library, 105 South Porter Street in Winchester.Due to the event's interactive nature, entry will be capped at only 50 attendees. The performance will fill quickly. But don't worry - The Wrestling Season is designed to tour, and private, off-site performances on alternate dates can also be booked now by calling (931) 409-0290.

In addition to young people, Millennium strongly encourage community leaders, parents, pastors, educators and youth workers to attend and to fully participate. Having positive, adult roles models on-hand is always valuable when confronting controversial issues with youth. A psychologist has been available during rehearsals to guide the performers, and will likewise be available to audiences after each show to provide resources, discuss referrals or offer any other necessary, immediate interventions.

The Wrestling Season features an all-star cast of area favorites; a rare combination of both top theatre & top athletic talents from a wide range of schools, including Graham Luker (Blackman High School), Matthew Rudder (Franklin County High School), Sarah Basile (Gateway Christian School), Katherine Smith (Tullahoma High School), Briggs Schneider (MTSU), Amanda Wright (Coffee County High School), Lebron Lackey (Lee University), Jackson Davison (MTSU), Katie Peterson (CCHS) and Devin Chapman (Tullahoma High School).
