Midnight to Present St. Louis Premiere of Comedy MISTAKES WERE MADE in August
The Midnight Company will present the St. Louis premiere of Craig Wright's riotous theatre comedy MISTAKES WERE MADE, August 18 through September 3, At The Kranzberg Center, 501 N. Grand, with performances Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm, and Saturdays at 7 and 9 pm.
In MISTAKES WERE MADE (which played last Fall at The Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago, and off Broadway this past Spring), the producer Felix Artifex (whose previous motley Broadway output has included such stars-in-retread-shows as Suzanne Sommers in MEDEA and The Go-Gos in THE THREE SISTERS) is finally poised to present a new, substantive American play on The Great White Way - MISTAKES WERE MADE, a play about the French Revolution, Freedom and Responsibility, Loyalty and Love, with a cast of 50, a guillotine, a star drop and a horse.
Throughout the 70 minutes we get to spend with Artifex, we see (and hear) him talking on the phone to moody movie stars who can get this show to Broadway and beyond, playwrights gasping at movie star-driven script changes, extravagant costumers, lofty directors, angry agents, paranoid theatre owners and a contingent of very bad unfriendly dudes in the Middle East with a lot of ordnance.
Joe Hanrahan, Midnight's Artistic Director, will play Artifex. The role of his secretary, Esther, is to be cast.
The show will be directed by Sarah Whitney, Midnight's Associate Director, who's directed Hanrahan in previous Midnight productions of ST. NICHOLAS, CUL-DE-SAC, THE GOOD THIEF, "GIVE ‘EM HELL HARRY" and APOLOGY/FAUSTUS.
Tickets for all performances of MISTAKES WERE MADE will be $20, with $15 tickets for Seniors/Students. More information, including casting and more ticketing info will follow shortly.
