We are excited to announce that Broadway actor Joel Perez, currently playing Roy/Mark/Pete/Bobby Jeremy in FUN HOME, will be taking over @BroadwayWorld on Twitter during today's matinee. Live from the Circle in the Square Theatre, Joel will take us backstage with photos, videos, fun facts, and more about the Tony Award-winning musical. He will even be answering your questions- Just tweet using #AskJoel! So before we get an inside look at the Broadway show, let's get to know our takeover host, Joel Perez.

Five Fun Facts About Joel

He has a secret talent. "I'm a MIME! Seriously. I'm a member of Broken Box Mime Theater. We recently had a show at called Above/Below at HERE Arts Center in Manhattan (For more info about the company visit www.brokenboxmime.com)."

Cats or dogs? "I am the proud cat dad of Prospero Perez. He's a little black cat I adopted last summer at Broadway Barks!"

He is also a percussionist. "I grew up playing the drums. My father is a Pentecostal minister, so my brother played the guitar and I played the drums in the worship team."

"My first job was... The 1st National Tour of In the Heights!"

He'd love to be a cartoon character. "I love accents and voices. I love listening to them and trying to copy them. If I could do voices on an animated TV show I would be the happiest guy in the world!"

Joel Perez is a performer living in Brooklyn, NY. He currently stars in the Tony Award Winning Broadway production of Fun Home after originating the role off-Broadway at The Public Theater. He's done work on TV in Person of Interest (CBS), The Big C (Showtime), and Black Box (ABC). He has toured nationally and internationally in In the Heights and Fame. He has participated in developmental labs with the Sundance Theater Lab, Soho Rep, Atlantic Theater Company, and many others. He has also worked on several commercials and voice-overs. He's an ensemble member of Broken Box Mime Theater and Pregones Theater. He studied at Tufts University, The British American Drama Academy and Upright Citizen's Brigade. He is repped by BRS/GAGE and Abrams Artists Agency.
