Celebration Theatre announces that Sharon McNight brings her critically-acclaimed, smash-hit, "Songs to Offend Almost Everyone" to Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

SONGS TO OFFEND ALMOST EVERYONE is the new over-the-top show of Sharon McNight. The selection of songs is a throwback to the party records of the 1950s and is designed to offend minorities and majorities of every persuasion. McNight warns, "This show contains adult language and content. Viewer discretion is advised." The unique program will include songs from Tom Lehrer, Randy Newman, Durwood Douche (accent on the e), a banned song by the late Chet Atkins ("Would Jesus Wear a Rolex"), and a tune by the unlikely offensive Stephen Sondheim ("I Never Do Anything Twice").

Chock full of first amendment rabble-rousers, SONGS TO OFFEND ALMOST EVERYONE is a throwback to party records of the 1950's and is designed to offend people "with good taste" of almost every persuasion. When the show was well received in its San Francisco and Los Angeles premieres, McNight recorded her politically incorrect tunes for Jezebel Music in two CDs.

Songs in the first disc include such songs as Randy Newman's "Political Science", "Would Jesus Wear a Rolex" by the late Chet Atkins, Tom Lehrer's "The Old Dope Peddler" and a sexually provocative number from the composer Stephen Sondheim. The second disc, produced by popular demand, OFFENSIVE, TOO VOLUME TWO, contains the Gilda Radner classic "Let's Talk Dirty To The Animals", as well as appropriate melodies from Broadway's William Finn, John Kander and Fred Ebb.

The two act show was selected to play Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, N.Y.C., as part of the Lortel's White Barn Summer Season. Of her provocative production, McNight says, "It's not all about forbidden words. We present under-the-table tunes that could rattle a busload of repressed Puritans."

SONGS TO OFFEND ALMOST EVERYONE is produced by Celebration Theatre's Artistic Director Michael A. Shepperd and company member Sean Lambert. The show is Stage Managed by Tracy McAvoy. Celebration's Managing Director is Michael Kricfalusi.

SONGS TO OFFEND ALMOST EVERYONE OPENS FEBRUARY 26TH FOR 6 PERFORMANCES ONLY.
February 26th, 27th and 28th and March 5th, 6th and 7th.
Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. Ticket prices are $20.00 for all performances.
