To honor the individuals who have devoted time and resources to the important mission of shaping the lives of inner-city youth, the Eagle Academy Foundation will host its Annual 'Saving Our Sons' Breakfast on May 9 at Yankee Stadium's Legends Suite. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will deliver the keynote address. This event is part of Eagle Week, a series of events from May 7-12, 2012 which highlights the importance of providing educational resources and community-based initiatives for inner-city young men to excel.

The Tuskegee Airmen are the African American U.S. Army Air Force bombardment group who fought during World War II. Eagle Academy schools have adopted the values of the renowned airmen by instilling leadership, discipline and pride in our young men of color. At the Eagle Academy, seniors pledge to fulfill their promise to graduate from high school and are presented with their "Senior Blazers," which they wear at Eagle graduation in June. Eagle Academy's convocation is modeled after a Tuskegee Airmen ritual known as "The Wingmen's Ceremony."
