GLEE star and Broadway favorite Matthew Morrison has come out in support of marriage equality and joined with the Human Rights Campaign in support of LGBT equality.

To prove it, Morrison appears in A New Television spot promoting his support for equality for all.

"I am an American for marriage equality. You know, America is supposed to be the land of freedom and opportunity, yet every day we are denying committed and loving gay and lesbian couples the freedom to get married. Why should anyone be told that their love isn't worthy of marriage just because they are different? It doesn't make sense," Morrison says in the clip.

"It is time for freedom to pertain to all Americans, not just some," he says.

"Join me and the majority of Americans who support marriage equality nationwide," he says in closing.

In addition to his ongoing role on FOX's hit musical dramedy series GLEE, Morrison will release a new solo album and star in his own PBS special, both titled WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, early next month.

The official Americans For Marriage Equality mission statement is as follows: "Love. Honor. Commitment. Three simple words. They are the words that gay and lesbian couples feel in their hearts when they make a commitment to each other. That's why the Human Rights Campaign believes that same-sex couples should be able to get married. Our campaign, Americans for Marriage Equality, is sparking a national conversation about the power of love, fairness and equality. We are Americans for Marriage Equality."

Morrison's official press statement, issued earlier today, is available here.
