Matt Dillon Set To Appear At The Steppenwolf For Algren Live

Matt Dillon will appear at Steppenwolf as part of a one night event on April 6th, 'Nelson Algren Live: The 100th Birthday Celebration.' This event will celebrate the 100th birthday of the late Nelson Algren.

The evening will include never-before-heard work by the famed Chicago writer. Other performers will also include ensemble members Martha Lavey, Estelle Parsons, and Dan Simon as well as authors Russell Banks, Barry Gifford, and Dan DeLillo.

Algren has penned many stories and his bibliography consists of Somebody in Boots (1935), Never Come Morning (1942), The Neon Wilderness (1947), The Man with the Golden Arm (1949), Chicago: City on the Make (1951), A Walk on the Wild Side (1956), Nelson Algren's Own Book of Lonesome Monsters (1962), Who Lost an American? The writer is also known for his torrid affair with Simone de Beauvoir.
