Mary McBride's 'Everyday is a Holiday,' Featuring Patrick Wilson, Gets 11/10 Release

On November 10, Bogan Records will release Every Day is a Holiday, the new holiday album from singer-songwriter Mary McBride. The album follows McBride's praised 2004 release By Any Other Name and her acclaimed performance of the song "No One's Gonna Love You Like Me" both onscreen and on the soundtrack of the Academy-award winning film Brokeback Mountain. Every Day is a Holiday features "Do You Hear What I Hear," a duet with Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and singer Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, Lakeview Terrace, Angels in America).

In addition to the duet with Wilson, Every Day is a Holiday features McBride's soulful interpretations of traditional carols "Silent Night," "O Holy Night" and "O Come All Ye Faithful" as well as originals "Bring It On" and "Christmastime." The album also features versions of holiday songs by renowned singers and songwriters including Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Louis Armstrong's "Cool Yule," Patty Griffin's "Oh Heavenly Day" and William Bell's "Every Day Will Be Like a Holiday."

Of the album, McBride says, "I wanted to make a record that was eclectic and included some traditional songs, but also some of my own songs and others by some of my favorite songwriters who represent the holidays in a variety of styles." Produced by Lou Whitney, Every Day is a Holiday features McBride (vocals), D. Clinton Thompson (guitars), Bobby Lloyd Hicks (drums, percussion), Joe Terry (piano, B3 organ, Wurlitzer, glockenspiel) and Whitney (bass).

Mary McBride has released two albums, "Everything Seemed Alright" and "By Any Other Name" and has toured with musical icons Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Joe Cocker, koko Taylor, Tony Joe White, Delbert McClinton and Blondie, among others. McBride was chosen by Elton John to sing "All the Girls Love Alice" at the 35th Anniversary Concert of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and also appeared on the True Colors Tour with the B52s and the Indigo Girls. McBride's songs have been featured on episodes of The L Word and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy; and she is currently writing the score for the new musical, The Nitpicker, which will be directed by Tony-award winning director Scott Ellis.
