Martin Short Comes To The Ridgefield Playhouse July 15
A one-man variety show, actor-comedian Martin Short will bring his zany and highly entertaining comedy to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, July 15, at 8 p.m. Who can forget Martin Short as the wedding planner in "Father of the Bride"? Short will perform his most memorable characters in this family-friendly event including Ned Nederlander from "Three Amigos" and Hollywood Agent Jiminy Glick. He is a master at improvisation and comedy. A complimentary wine tasting by Benziger Family Winery will take place in the lobby at 7 p.m. This event is part of the Benziger Family Winery Theater & Comedy Series.
Saturday Night Live was the springboard for Martin Short's long career in film and television. He has starred in many popular comedies including Three Amigos, Innerspace, Pure Luck, Jungle 2 Jungle, Mars Attacks!, Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride 2. A multiple award- winner, Short racked up a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Little Me and some Emmy Awards for his television work.
The Palm Beach Post writes that "Martin Short had the audience rolling with laugher as he transformed himself on the stage...Short commanded the stage. Not only was he the commander but the army as well....Short has an incredible ability to draw you in then leave you laughing so hard your belly hurts." He even sings.
