Manhattan Theatre Source Presents InGENIUS 2010 Short Play Festival, Opens 1/21

By:

Manhattan Theatre Source writers reflect the 2000-2009 zeitgeist with InGENIUS 2010 Short Play Festival. The festival opens Thursday, January 21st, 2010. Week 1 runs from January 21st - 24th and Week 2 is January 27th - 31st.

Race, the economy and death are the prevalent themes in the 2010 InGenius short play Festival at Manhattan Theatre Source. This is the second year for the two week showcase of the best writing from the Source, including veterans of the off off Broadway world Ed Malin and Vinnie Marano and new talent such as Jonathan Kravetz and Renee Rankin.

Funny, poignant, melancholy and never longer than twenty minutes, this collection of plays captures the New York zeitgeist as the noughties draw to a close.

Week 1 runs Thursday, January 21st thru Sunday the 24th and features the following short plays:
The Party Continued - Alaina Hammond; Trains - Ed Malin; Taxi Dreams - Carolyn Boriss-Krimsky; Love in ¾ Time - Susan Laubach; Buddy Boys - Vinnie Marano.

Week 2 runs Thursday January 28th to Sunday the 31st and features the following short plays: God is a Puerto Rican - John Watts; Things Change - Natalie Bates; Violins - Jonathan Kravetz; The i-Factor - John McKinney; Zap Belly - Renee Rankin.

There will be an InGenius Audience Choice night on Saturday February 6th.

Tickets are available through Theatermania at theatermania.com or on 866 811 4111 for $18
Performances are 21-23 January at 8pm and Sunday 24th at 3pm and 28-30 January at 8pm and Sunday 28th at 3pm.
