By: Jessikah Hackett
This March, Madison Ballet and the Overture Center present A Midsummer Night's Dream, a unique dance interpretation of William Shakespeare's fanciful comedy. Peter Anastos' choreography brings the classic play into new perspective. The score, which serves as a driving force throughout the ballet, was written by Felix Mendelssohn.
Tickets for A Midsummer Night's Dream range in price from $6-$45, and can be purchased online at www.overturecenter.com. A Midsummer Night's Dream opens Saturday, March 19 and runs through Sunday, March 20. The show is presented at Capitol Theater, and has a running time of two hours. A Midsummer Night's Dream is the season finale for the Overture Center. Overture Center is home to ten resident arts organizations and includes seven performance venues, meeting spaces and art galleries.
