My Broken Brain, a new solo play written by and starring Michael Hirstreet performs July 17th - July 19th as part of the 10th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival.

As an artist and extrovert, it was a challenge for Michael growing up in his small (minded) New Jersey suburb. He falls in love with the unattainable girl. He strays from his Jesus loving mother, and he can't seem to find his identity. That's nothing five brain hemorrhages won't cure.

Michael Hirstreet's New York Theatre Credits include: Working It Out (Horsetrade Theatre), ANIMALS (NY Fringe and George Street Playhouse), The Art of the Pick-Up (Riant Theatre), and War in Paramus (HB Playwrights Foundation). Workshops include: Dream of the Burning Boy with Reed Birney, Class Mothers '68 at Luna Stage, directed by Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez. He received his BFA in Acting from Rutgers University. Rutgers Credits include: Tom in Fat Pig, Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing (performed at Shakespeare's Globe in London, England), and Bobby in the world premiere of Mrs. Henderson's Cat by Lia Romeo.

Ryan J. Davis (White Noise, Broadway Beauty Pageant) directs.

My Broken Brain is a selection of The Midtown International Theatre Festival, as part of its First Annual Short Subjects Division and performs at Where Eagles Dare, The Blackbird Theatre, 347 W. 36th St. 13th Floor. Performances are: Friday, July 17 @ 5:30PM, Saturday, July 18 @ 7:00PM, and Sunday, July 19th at 4:00PM. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for students and seniors.
