MTG Presents SIDE SHOW at MIT, 11/6 - 11/14

MTG will present Bill Russell and Henry Kreiger's Side Show at the MIT student center from November 6 through November 8.  Based on the true story of Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton who became stars during the Depression, Side Show is a portrait of two women joined at the hip whose extraordinary bondage brings them fame but denies thEm Love. Told almost entirely in song, the show follows their progression from England to America, around the vaudeville circuit and to Hollywood on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie Freaks.

The production is produced by Becky Bianco, directed by Priscilla Army, assistant directed by Jean Fang and features musical direction by Michael Glicksman, orchestra direction by Matthew Putnam, vocal coaching by Kerry Steere, and choreography by Danbee Kim and Priscilla Army.

Side Show stars Kimberly Brink, Rachel Coffin, Carlos Cardenas, Luis Loya, Mike Piacentini, Zachary Barryte, Katie Silberstein, Karen Wong, Helen O'Keefe, Erin O'Brien, Vi Hart, Daniel Sngiem, Stephanie Schmit, Lekha Kuhananthan, Svetlana Chekmasova, and Rob Morrison.

Side Show features a book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), and will run from November 6-7 and 12-14 at 8PM, with a matinee November 8 at 2PM. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit http://web.mit.edu/mtg. Reservations can also be made by telephone at 617-253-6294, or by visiting the reservations booth in Lobby 10 from 10AM-4PM every day this week. Performances will take place in La Sala de Puerto Rico, on the second floor of the MIT Student Center, 84 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA.

Tickets are $6 for MIT and Wellesley Students, $10 for MIT Community, Senior Citizens, other students, and $15 for the General Public

Cast, production staff, and orchestra positions are open to everyone, although preference will be given to MIT students and community members in accordance with the MTG constitution.

The MIT community includes all MIT students, alumni, faculty, staff, their immediate families, and Wellesley students. The membership of the Musical Theatre Guild consists of anyone who has worked on an MTG show within the past year, regardless of MIT affiliation.

MTG is a volunteer organization; compensation is not provided to production staff, cast, or orchestra members.
