MISS SAIGON's Chris Peluso will play 'Gaylord Ravenal' when SHOW BOAT sails from Sheffield to the West End this spring.

Peluso appeared in the original Broadway production of BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, as well as two U.S. tours of WICKED and LESTAT and ASSASSINS on Broadway.

Olivier nominee Michael Xavier, who played the part in the Crucible's original production, will not reprise his role, as he will be starring opposite Glenn Close in SUNSET BOULEVARD at the London Coliseum.

The Daily Mail writes that Peluso will join original leads Gina Beck, Emmanuel Kojo and Rebecca Trehearn, as well as Malcolm Sinclair, Lucy Briers, Sandra Marvin, Alex Young and Danny Collins, in Daniel Evans' production of the classic musical, which begins April 9 at the New London Theatre.

In this lavish new production of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's epic musical, SHOW BOAT, Magnolia falls deeply in love with a handsome stranger, and they set off on an adventure to the big city. But can their love survive away from the banks of their beloved Mississippi? Guaranteed to sweep audiences off their feet this Christmas, this classic show features a live orchestra, a stunning set and an unforgettable score that includes the soaring melodies of "Make Believe," "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," the show-stopping "Ol' Man River."
