The show began development in 2012. A demo was recorded and released in May of that year. A partial reading is currently planned to take place in Illinois this month with a more substantial workshop/reading lined up in NYC later this year.
Kevin Michael JONES (Composer/Lyricist) Kevin is the composer and lyricist of THE CRAFT: The Musical. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Vocal Pedagogy. Kevin has performed in and directed a variety of opera and musical theatre productions. Along with THE CRAFT, he is currently developing two other musicals. The first is a musical adaptation of the 1999 cult film, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and t?he second is an original show titled SAMHAIN: Tales of All Hallow's Eve.
Shakina Nayfack (Director)
Shakina Nayfack is a theatre director, choreographer, producer and performance artist with a passion for developing new work. Shakina produced and directed world premiers of The Poor Players by Dan LeFranc (Actors Theatre of Santa Cruz) and Cosa Rara by Butchlalis de Panochtitlan (Highways Performance Space, Los Angeles) and has facilitated the development process of many other new plays and musicals. In addition to working on The Craft: The Musical, Shakina's largest long-term project is JUNK: A Rock Opera, originated by the Swedish pop band Brainpool (
www.JunkRockOpera.com). Shakina is also the Associate Producer at

PETER FILARDI (Film Script/Screenplay Writer) The book for THE CRAFT: The Musical is adapted from Peter's original film script/screenplay (with permission). Peter is from Mystic, Connecticut and attended Boston University's undergraduate film studies program. Filardi's film writing credits include Flatliners, The Craft and Ricky 6. Filardi also wrote for the popular television seriesMacGyver. Filardi's directorial debut was for the film Ricky 6 which won a Prix du Public at the Fantasia Film Festival, Montreal 2000. Filardi is currently working on an untitled disaster miniseries for
Robert Greenwald Productions/FX television; an adaptation of Clive Barker's History of the Devil; and a new adaptation of
Stephen King's It for Warner Bros. Television.
