Due to overwhelming ticket demand, Mama and Her Boys at the new Underground Theatre, 955 West End Avenue (at W. 107th and Broadway) has added a performance on Thursday, March 21 at 7pm.
At this performance Christopher Behmke, Audrey Federici and Erik Keiser will appear. Performances will continue every Monday at 9pm for an open ended run. Tickets, priced $30-$40 are available by calling 866.811.4111 or visiting theatermania.com.
The first block of tickets, for performances through April 8, is now on sale. Created by Ethan Paulini, Christopher Sidoli and Wendy Watson, Mama and Her Boys is described as a funny and poignant musical that explores the dynamic relationship between mothers, sons and families. Featuring an eclectic mix of over 25 songs from all styles and genres. Paulini, Sidoli and Watson will all recreate their roles under the direction and choreography of Paulini. William Demaniow serves as musical director. Tony nominee Linda Kline serves as script consultant with costume and production design by Shaun Daley.
Christina Sajous, who has appeared as the Special Guest Star on February 18 and will appear in the official opening this evening, will return to the cast on March 18. Other upcoming guest stars include Nicole Lewis, Eric Riley, Bethany Moore, Ellyn Marie Marsh, Paige Turner and newly announced SuEllen Estey (Broadway's Sweeney Todd, State Fair, La Cage Tour).
Mama and Her Boys premiered at Cape Rep Theatre in January of 2011. Following critical and commercial success it went on to enjoy engagements all over the Northeast and has been enjoyed over 200 performances for thousands of theatregoers including an open ended run in Provincetown, MA from June-October, 2011.
