LuPone in 'Coulda Woulda Shoulda' at UCLA One-Night-Only
Tony and Olivier Award winner Patti LuPone brings her new concert "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda," conceived and directed by Scott Wittman with musical arrangements by Dick Gallagher as a one-night-only event, Monday November 12 to UCLA's Freud Playhouse.
LuPone performs songs from musicals, which she could have played, should have played, did play and will play. The list of shows includes Hair, Bye Bye Birdie, Funny Girl, West Side Story and Peter Pan and, of course, from her award winning performances in Evita and Anything Goes.
"Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" is presented in Los Angeles by Reprise! Broadway's Best for one night only on Monday, November 12, at UCLA's intimate Freud Playhouse. For tickets, please call the UCLA Central Ticket Office at 310-825-2101 or visit www.reprise.org. Reprise! is led by its new artistic director Jason Alexander.
LuPone debuted "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" to a sold-out audience at New York's Carnegie Hall in February 2002. Recently, she starred as Mama Rose in New York City Center's production of Gypsy and one-woman show, "The Lady with the Torch." The Theatre Hall of Fame Inductee has been featured in dozens of shows including the Broadway hit Sweeney Todd and her Tony Award-winning turn in Evita; and received an Emmy nomination for her work on the television show "Frasier."
The concert was conceived and directed by Scott Wittman with dialogue by Jeffrey Richman and LuPone. LuPone performs under the musical direction of Chris Fenwick, the current musical director of the Broadway revival of Grease. Fenwick was also the musical director for the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of The Pajama Game starring Harry Connick, Jr. The concert is performed in memory of its co-creator Dick Gallagher.
