By:

The Loveland Music Guild is proud to present Rick Lewis' lighthearted musical The Taffetas, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, August 11-13, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Rialto Theater in Loveland (228 East 4th Street, Loveland, CO).

Journey back into a time when hula hoops were hot, angora sweaters were fashionable, and poodle skirts were the talk of the town. It's 1956 and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna; four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana, are making their U.S. television singing debut.

"Spotlight on Music," a fictitious weekly 1950's television show on the real life Dumont Television Network, sets the framework for an evening of some of the greatest hits of the 1950's, featuring songs such as Constantinople, Volare, Tennessee Waltz, Mr. Sandman, See The USA In Your Chevrolet, Tonight You Belong To Me, I'm Sorry, Dedicated To The One I Love, Johnny Angel, Puppy Love, Little Darlin', Where The Boys Are, Sh-Boom, Love Letters In The Sand, How Much Is That Doggie In The Window, L-O-V-E and many others.

The Taffetas pays tribute to the to the girl groups of the 1950's like "The McGuire Sisters", "The Fontane Sisters" and "The Chordettes". Opening Off-Broadway almost two years before Forever Plaid, The Taffetas made nostalgia what it is today! Spend an hour and a half with The Taffetas and their four-piece band and remember what Sunday night television was like on your 12-inch Philco Television!

The Taffetas is directed by Peter F. Muller, Choreographed by Scott Wright, with Musical Direction by John Garner and features Kristi Siedow-Thompson as Peggy, Angela Johnson as Donna, Tara Zumfelde as Cheryl and EIleen May as Kaye.
