New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents MINT'D, which is comprised of two performances: Inheritance (5PM) and EXPLORERS (8PM). MINT'D will play at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). Performances of MINT'D are:

Inheritance is a series of reimagining theatrical roots and form with a fresh perspective. From Rodgers & Hammerstein or Sondheim to Pasek and Paul or Ryan Scott Oliver, this series reflects on rich musical theatre history with an eye on the future. Joshua W. Kelley (Director), Solomon Hoffman (Music Director) and Kelvin Dinkins, Jr. (Producer), present INHERITANCE, a premiere of new student work about paying homage with a pulse. Inheritance will showcase student composers/lyricists: Aaron Albert and Katy Rae, Will Buck and Jack Purdy, Eric Dietz, Stephen Feigenbaum with Mark Sonnenblick, Ben Langhorst, Kailey Marshall, Addison O'Donnell, Chris Byron Pratt, Jacob Tischler, Ed Wasserman with Jack Mitchel. Inheritance will feature student cast members: From Pace University: Lindsey Brett Carothers (BRING IT ON), Marissa O'Donnell (SHREK: THE MUSICAL), Julia Franklin, Kelsey Lake, and John-Michael Lyles; from Columbia University: Rebekah Lowin and Sean Walsh; Molly Fried (NYU), Kevin Hoffman (Millikin) Chris Karl (U. of Arizona), Michael Hughes (Pace), Sarah Anne Sillers (Princeton), and Lincoln Ward (Webster Conservatory).

EXPLORERS features new sounds that challenge to reinvent musicals for the next century. It is Directed by Scott Ebersold (FRINGENYC: Outstanding Director, OUT Magazine: Best Gay Play), Music Directed by Max Mamon, and Produced by Martins Jukna. Like the creators of ONCE transferred the intimacy of a singer-songwriter from screen to stage, and FELA! brought the music of African night clubs to an American audience, Explorers features music that redefines the genre of musical theatre for tomorrow. EXPLORERS will showcase student composers/lyricists: Tidtaya Sinutoke and Thirza DeFoe (Grammy Winner: "Come to Me Great Mystery"), Alexandra Bassett, Jesse Goldman and Teresa Lotz, Tatyana Kalko, Yasmine Lever, Andrew Hanley, Max Mamon and John Sood, David Gomez and John-Michael Lyles, Max Vernon, Zack Zadek, Alexander Green, Alexander Oyen, and be performed by student cast members: Jordan Barrow (University of Michigan), Livie Casto (NYU), Phoenix Gonzalez (Princeton), Emily Koch (Carnegie Mellon), Lyle Colby Mackston (Pace), Chris Prisco (Princeton), MJ Rodriguez (RENT), Joyah Spangler (Otterbein University).

NYMF's Student Leadership Program (SLP) through MINT'D gives the opportunity for emerging artists, composers and theatre managers to present their work to musical theatre fans and industry leaders. The event is ideal for musical theatre fans of all walks of life that enjoy new music by promising, up-and-coming composers. This year's MINT'D concert series marks NYMF's second SLP concert, following last year's success, PART OF IT ALL, hosted by composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for one show and Drew Gasparini for the next. Students involved in MINT'D hail from schools across the country, such as Columbia University, Pace University, New York University, Princeton University, University of Florida, and many more.
