Linda Eder to Appear with Chicago Pops Feb.23

By:

Bradley A. Stephens, Mayor of the Village of Rosemont and son of the founder of the Chicagoland Pops, the late Donald E. Stephens, along with Brenda Edgar, Chairman of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra Commission, announced that Broadway legend Linda Eder will perform with the acclaimed Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, conducted by Grammy winning artist and Chicago resident Arnie Roth, at The Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, on Saturday, February 23 at 8 pm.

After beginning her musical career via "Star Search," where she had an unprecedented 13-weeks of success, Linda Eder went on to star in the traveling Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde. For her Jekyll & Hyde performance, Eder received the Theatre World Award for Best Broadway Debut, as well as the Drama Desk and Outer Critics' Circle Award Nominations for Best Actress in a Musical.  Eder has released seven solo albums and was featured on the original Broadway Cast Albums for Jekyll & Hyde and the original concept albums for other stage musicals including, The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Civil War, which won her popular accolades.  In the midst of releasing albums, Eder realized her life-long dream by performing three sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall.  She has gone on to be compared to Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and other great voices, catapulting Eder into an elite group of singers.

Arnie Roth, Music Director and Principal Conductor, is known for his work with performers including Diana Ross, Charlotte Church, Peter Cetera, Mannheim Steamroller and Dennis DeYoung. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the BBC Symphony and Ravinia Festival Orchestra. Roth has produced dozens of best-selling CDs as well as concerts for WTTW.

The Chicagoland Pops is Chicago's only resident pop orchestra, a professional symphonic ensemble presenting an innovative blend of popular music, classical works and a variety of contemporary genres – rock, pop and jazz. The orchestra is made up of the area's finest musicians. This season, the Chicagoland Pops plans upcoming concerts featuring nationally known world-class artists.

Tickets to the Saturday, February 23 performance at 8 pm are priced at $45 and $60 and available by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or calling Ticketmaster at 312.559.1212.  For more information, visit www.chicagolandpops.com
