Linda Fairstein, Adam Gopnik and More Attended Authors in Kind Literary Luncheon, April 26

On Thursday, April 26, more than 250 friends of God's Love We Deliver gathered at the Ninth Annual Authors in Kind. This literary luncheon was held at The Pierre Hotel and marked the end of the 25th anniversary of God's Love We Deliver which was launched at last year's luncheon. Board Member, author extraordinaire and Authors In Kind founder, Linda Fairstein, emceed as our guest authors took the podium to share anecdotes and remarks about their work to the delight of our many guests. The authors signed books before and after the event, meeting and greeting guests and fans.

This year's authors included:

Linda Fairstein - Author of the Alex Cooper crime novel series, Linda is supporting the 14th book in her series, Night Watch.

Adam Gopnik - Brilliant writer for The New Yorker and author of The Table Comes First: Family, France, and the Meaning of Food.

Michael Connelly - Internationally #1 best-selling crime novelist and author of The Drop, the latest in the Harry Bosch series.

Harry Belafonte - Legendary activist, performer and author of his memoir, My Song.

Karen Pearl, God's Love President & CEO, opened with moving remarks about how this event supports the important mission of God's Love. Linda Fairstein, the tour de force behind Authors In Kind, made lovely remarks on the work of God's Love, its history and the community it serves. Adam Gopnik shed light onthe beginnings of his book and how food can heal and unite all of us. Michael reminded us that we can all be like his character, Harry Bosch. And finally, welcomed to the stage by a standing ovation, Harry Belafonte captivated the guests with his stories of his past activism, his dear friendships and the roles they played in his life, and the importance of good works in every community.
