David Hare's new adaptation of Ibsen's THE MASTER BUILDER has rounded out its company, led by Ralph Fiennes, for its winter run at The Old Vic, and Broadway actress Linda Emond is among the new additions to the cast. Not only that, but the Daily Mail is reporting that producer Scott Rudin will bring the production to Broadway next fall.

No word on a New York venue or official dates, but BWW will keep you posted as we learn more!

As previously reported, Sarah Snook (as Hilde) will join Ralph Fiennes (as Solness) in the play, helmed by Artistic Director Matthew Warchus from January 23 through March 19, 2016. Linda Emond, known for her performance on Broadway opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman in DEATH OF A SALESMAN, will play Solness's wife. Also in the cast are James Laurenson, James Dreyfus and Charlie Cameron.

Describing his vision of the piece, Warchus told the Mail, "I'm interested in the collision between naturalistic marriage drama and fairy tale" and added that the score and designs for the show will make audiences feel like "the drama is haunted by supernatural presence; something you feel rather than see."

The Old Vic describes THE MASTER BUILDER as "a searing and mesmeric exploration of power, control, death and life" which "comes to The Old Vic in a lively new adaptation by David Hare (multi-award-winning writer and author of 32 plays for the stage including SKYLIGHT, THE ABSENCE OF WAR, AMY'S VIEW, PRAVDA and STUFF HAPPENS). Halvard Solness, a master architect, has spent his lifetime building the tallest spires in the land. But when Hilde, a radiant country girl, descends unexpectedly into his world, age is confronted by youth, and a series of revelations builds to a vertiginous climax."
