Landmark on Main Street to Feature Doo Wop Project Tonight, 10/20

By:

Landmark on Main Street opens its 2012-13 Main Stage Cabaret Series with the Doo Wop Project tonight, October 20 at 8 PM.

Landmark thanks our Main Stage Cabaret Series Sponsors Fern & Hersh Cohen, Susan Isaacs and Elkan Abramowitz, Sandy & Eric Krasnoff, Jane & Martin Schwartz and Dot & Ed Slade as well as our program sponsors Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, Robin Serinsky & Jay Silverman and Judith & Morton Sloan. Landmark also gratefully acknowledges our Season Sponsor Pall Corporation and our Partners in Performing Arts: Harding Real Estate, Town of North Hempstead, Bank of America, The Peter & Jeri Dejana Family Foundation and Winthrop University Hospital for their support of our full season of programming.

The Doo Wop Project stars leading cast members from the Tony Award Winning Broadway smash, JERSEY BOYS – including Landmark’s Spotlight Gala ’11 Star Jarrod Spector.
The Doo Wop Project is a night of songs mixed with individual stories and references to their upbringings and experiences in the business, particularly backstage at The August Wilson Theatre, home of Jersey Boys, where the idea for the group was conceived.

While the show does not feature Jersey Boys material, or songs by Frankie Valli/The Four Seasons, this evening is an homage to classic Doo Wop and the music that was inspired by that sound. The Doo Wop Project features songs by Randy & The Rainbows ("Denise"), Thurston Harris ("Little Bitty Pretty One"), The Skyliners ("Since I Don't Have You"), The Capris ("Morse Code of Love") and more. In addition, the show will include such classic contemporary songs by Michael Jackson (“The Way You Make Me Feel”) and “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.

A show full of harmonies and banter that will leave you smiling…and humming.
Tickets Premium $50 and Standard $45 with discounts for Friends of Landmark and/or patrons purchasing the Main Stage Cabaret Series. Purchase through Landmark’s box office 516-767-6444 or www.landmarkonmainstreet.org.
