Lakewood Theatre Company Celebrates Holiday Season with 'Lakewood in Lights,' 12/7

The Lakewood Theatre Company will celebrate the holidays with Lakewood in Lights 2009 on December 7, 2009 from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM. This annual holiday fundraiser for Lakewood, hosted by Tracy Barry and Larry Blackmar, features food, music, dance, and a tree auction to benefit Lakewood Theatre Company and Lakewood Center for the Arts. The title sponsor is Umpqua Bank.

For the event, the halls of Lakewood Center for the Arts are decorated for the holidays by the Lakewood Center Associates, a support auxiliary of Lakewood Center. On December 7, 2009, at 5:30 PM the event begins with a silent auction, raffles, drinks and hearty hors d'oeuvres. Musical performances by local artists matched with a tree auction begins at 6:30 PM. Featured performers include Sarah Catherine Wheatley, Michael Allen Harrison, Wade Willis, Scott Parker, Marissa Neitling and many others! Steve Knox, noted Lake Oswego/Portland director directs the entertainment, Tracy Barry and Larry Blackmar host the festivities and the Lakewood Center Board of Directors stages the event.

Event co-chairs, and Lakewood Board members, Linda Brown and Rocky Johnson, note that this year's event will also have a new item to bid on: a post-holiday Shop Till You Drop Party for 6 with wine, food & $500 store credit at Accessories from the Heart in their new location at 220 A Avenue in downtown Lake Oswego. In addition a drawing will be held for two nights at Earthbox Motel & Spa in Friday Harbor, Washington.

Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1952, Lakewood Theatre Company is a semi-professional theatre dedicated to the study and presentation of drama in all its forms; the training and development of actors; and the creation, maintenance and operation of a theatre in which to present plays and other forms of entertainment. Lakewood Theatre Company is the oldest continually operated, not-for-profit theatre company in the Portland metropolitan area. It annually provides more than 700 theatre artists the opportunity to learn and display their craft and annually attracts more than 40,000 people to its shows.
