LTFR Presents The Laramie Project June 9-19

By:

The Little Theatre of Fall River opens its annual Firebarn subscription season with the compelling drama, The Laramie Project. The show runs June 9 to the 19, Thursday through Sunday. Thursday performances are at 7:30; Friday and Saturday at 8; and Sunday at 7. All performances will be at the Firebarn, Little Theatre's home, at the corner of Prospect Street and Highland Avenue in Fall River.

In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left to die. He was tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie, outside Laramie, Wyoming, and his body was not discovered until the next day. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay. The Laramie Project is a breathtaking theatrical collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink, and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

The Laramie Project features Jeff Belanger, Kelly Morrel Camara, Roger Duarte, Joseph Luca, Chris Mac, Pamela Morgan, Caitlin Robert, April Ruggiero, and Joel Ward. Jen Bellanti is Laramie's director, with John J. Nunes as Assistant Director/Stage Manager, and Judi Davis as Stage Manager Apprentice.

Tickets are $16 for The Laramie Project. Discounts are available for students, seniors, and children. For reservations and information, call the Little Theatre box office at (508) 675-1852 or visit our website at www.littletheatre.net.
