LOVE_NEVER_DIES_The_Big_Winner_In_First_BWWUK_Awards_20010101

Love Never Dies is the biggest winner in the first-ever BWW:UK Awards!

Not only did the show pick up Best Musical (in a very tightly-fought battle with Legally Blonde), but Ramin Karimloo and Summer Strallen both won individual awards for their performances, and Jack O'Brien won Best Director.

Sheridan Smith won Best Leading Actress in a musical for her turn as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.

The 39 Steps was the biggest winner in the plays categories, sweeping the board in the performance awards.

Carrie DunnAfter spending her formative years reading books and ending up with a Masters degree in English literature from King's College London, it was inevitable that Carrie should be a journalist. Her pure and simple delight in the art-form of musical theatre led to the Guardian asking her to be their West End Girl. Since then, she's picked up a PhD, and also written for many other UK publications, including the Times and the Independent. She has many eclectic loves, including sport, karaoke, reality television, MMORPGs, three-volume Victorian novels, the British seaside, embroidery and Veronica Mars.
