Irish company Feidir Linn's U.S. premier of Liberty's Ladder will bring its New York City run to a close at Stage Left Studio, Tuesday, 8:00pm. Writer Kelly O'Keeffe invited her cast from Obair New Market on Fergus to perform this memorial production that pays tribute to those lost on 9/11 as part of the 251st celebration of the St. Patrick's Day Festival. The project highlights the contribution and significance of Ireland's emigrants to America's history by storytelling through speech and song.

O'Keeffe's Liberty's Ladder was born of her own experiences being in New York City and the resulting consequences of her life now firmly linked here. She states, "Its victims and heroes have all inspired this memorial of devotion, heroism, heritage and hope. Ireland and its culture are forever linked with the USA. Liberty's Ladder is an extension of this link but roots both nations' souls and spirits through the traditional Irish story and song."

The cast includes John Higgins as the Voice of Ireland, (brother of President Michael D. Higgins), Brian Mc Namara as the Spirit of JFK (Torch Players Theatre, Limerick, Ireland), Mark McNutly, Chris Ryan and Thomas McNamara who provide the traditional Irish vocals. They are accompanied by award-winning (Fleadhs) harpist Caitriona Fawl.

Feidir Linn Productions seeks to tell human stories of heritage and history using grassroots talent from local communities who may not have been exposed to drama/theatre or film before. The Feidir Linn company has enjoyed support from the New Market on Fergus community, Obair and the Deirdre O Brien-Vaughan Traditional Music Institute.
