The director is seeking: 2 women, ages 40-60, 1 women, age 20-60 and 1 man age 40-60. In addition the director is seeking actors for non-speaking roles to play tourists in 4 separate scenes. All speaking roles require a strong English accent.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

Materials Needed: Actors will read scenes from the play, or if the actor prefers, bring a prepared comic monologue in an English accent up to one minute in length. Please bring a resume and an 8X10 glossy photo. Also, bring your calendar to list all conflicts.

About the Play: What happens when an eccentric tour guide is assigned to the dullest house in England? After watching her groups dwindle with boredom, she begins to elaborate. As she adds wildly dramatic tales of murder and intrigue, she begins to receive ovations from her increasing audiences. Her success is cut short when the formidable head of the Historic Tours shows up.

Parts Available:

All roles require a strong English accent. Knowledge of the play extremely helpful.

Roles are open for Non-Equity actors to play:

Lettice Douffet - Age 40 to 60. Theatrical, eccentric, a gifted orator with an impeccable command of language and knowledge of history. She is employed by the Preservation Trust as a tour guide for an English manor house. Requires excellent English accent and lots of line memorization.

Lotte Schoen - Age 40 to 60. A by-the-book bureaucrat who works in the personnel office of the Preservation Trust in London. Strict, smart, intimidating but with a romantic past. Requires excellent English accent and lots of line memorization.

Miss Framer - Age 20s to 60s. Ms. Schoen's mousy secretary. A squashed cabbage leaf. Requires excellent English accent.

Mr. Bardolf - Age 40s to 60s. A lawyer, professional and proper, who is surprisingly able to cut loose when the need arises. Requires excellent English accent.

Surly Man & Other Visitors on the tour of the English Manor. Same group of actors play different groups of tourists in 4 scenes. Requires the ability to come up with 4 distinct characters, with good reactions and ad libs that contribute to the scenes (no mugging.) Any age, ethnicity or type encouraged to audition! Some, but not all, will require English accents. For the audition, you may do a prepared monologue (see above) or read for one of the other roles. Surly Man should read side for Mr. Bardolf.

Call 503-635-3901 to schedule an appointment time.
