L.A. Arts Town Hall Set for June 16

The Center for Cultural Innovation has announced that the 2007 Los Angeles Arts Town Hall will take place June 16 at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Little Tokyo.

Set to speak at the all-day event is L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Olga Garay from the city's Department of Cultural Affairs, along with other key arts leaders.  Leading arts policy makers, advocates and funders will discuss important trends and initiatives that will impact L.A. artist and arts organizations.

Afternoon workshops and seminars include topics ranging from grant writing, health insurance for artists, the art of marketing and new and sustainable business models for the arts.

The event is funded in part by the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Boeing Company.  Supporting Organizations include: The Actors' Fund, Arts for LA, California Lawyers for the Arts, Center for Cultural Innovation, Center for Nonprofit Management, The Durfee Foundation, The Getty Foundation, The James Irvine Foundation, Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, LA Stage Alliance, Leveraging Investments in Creativity and the National Association of Artists' Organizations.

The 2007 L.A. Arts Town Hall begins at 9:30 in the morning at 244 S. San Pedro Street in Little Tokyo.  Although admission to the event is free, pre-registrations is required.  For more information and to register online, visit www.cciarts.org/laartstownhall.htm
