LAST SHOW Opens at Brick Theatre, 9/17-25

LAST_SHOW_Opens_at_Brick_Theatre_20010101

The Last Show You'll Ever See is an original work created by Sarah Liane Foster with coaching by Giovanni Fusetti, artistic collaboration from the Geniuses, and direction by Elizabeth Baron. This apocalyptic, bizarrely intellectual, hilarious show is funniest for viewers aged 10 and older.

The Last Show You'll Ever See will run Fri, 9/17 at 7pm, Sat, 9/18 at 6pm, Tues, 9/21 at 7pm, Fri, 9/24 at 7pm, and St, 9/25 at 10pm as part of the New York Clown Theatre Festival at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street, Brooklyn). Tickets ($15 / $10 for Weekend Matinee Family Shows) may be purchased online at www.bricktheater.com or by calling 1-866-811-4111.

Sarah Liane Foster trained in physical theatre and clown at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, at the Celebration Barn Theatre, and with Giovanni Fusetti. She creates, performs, and teaches clown and physical theatre in Portland, around the United States, and internationally. In Portland she is Co-Artistic Director of the Nomadic Theatre Co, and has been involved in creating and performing six original shows with the company. Sarah has been an active Clowns Without Borders performer since 2005. Right after appearing at the New York Clown Theatre Festival, she will be traveling to Florence, Italy for an assistantship for the first term of Giovanni Fusetti's movement theatre school, Helikos.

Giovanni Fusetti is the Founder and Pedagogic Director of the Scuola Internazionale di Creazione Teatrale HELIKOS, in Florence, Italy. He has been student, pedagogic assistant and teacher at the Ecole International de

Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, before directing the Kìklos School in Padua, Italy, between 2000 and 2004. As a pedagogue and director, he runs workshops internationally, both as a free lancer and in collaboration with theatre companies, theatre schools and universities around the world. His 20 years of pedagogical research include training in Theatre in Education, Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, Gestalt Therapy, Bionergetics, Wutao and Process Work. In his pedagogy, he is integrating physical theatre with different practices of physical and emotional awareness, for the training of the actor/poet/creator, on the path toward reconnecting theatre to its origin: ecstasy.

Elizabeth Baron will start teaching at Giovanni Fusetti's international school of theater creation, Helikos: Scuola Internazionale Di Creazione Teatrale, in Florence, Italy this October. She now works in Boulder, Colorado in collaboration with various theater companies and schools, locally and internationally, as an actor, collaborative theater-maker, director, musician, and teacher. Her most recent Colorado projects include her award-winning, highly acclaimed production of Aeschylus' Agamemnon, (LaLa Theater, June 2009, Dairy Center) and acting in Buskerfly Productions' films "The Mayor and the Mongrel" and "Busker's Bounty" (Levante International Film Festival's Selection, 2009). Most recent directing credits include Bobby Dart's Requiem for a Snowflake (LaLa Theater, Boulder 2009), Nomadic Theater Company's The Last Show You'll Ever See (productions in NY, OR, CO & CA), and GEmma Wilcox Productions' 52 PickUp (Best of Fest, BIFF 2008,) which continues to tour the US and Canada to great success. She was awarded the 2010 BCAA Fellowship in Theater (awarded once every 3 years). She holds an MFA in Lecoq Based Actor-Created Physical Theater from Naropa University/London International School of the Performing Arts (LISPA), and she co-founded Lala Theater Company with Bobby Dartt in 2008.  Liz leads mask, red nose clown, acting, movement, and voice workshops and classes, locally and throughout the U.S.

The Geniuses are a crack team of clowns composed of Elizabeth Baron, Bobby Dartt, Alan Fessenden, Roman Kosins, and Sarah Liane Foster. They convened in Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2008, with the monomaniacal goal of creating five original, outrageous, hilarious solo clown shows with the coaching of Giovanni Fusetti and the artistic support of each other. They succeeded.

Now in its seventh year, the Portland-based Nomadic Theatre Co creates, performs and teaches physical, non-traditional theatre in the Pacific Northwest and around the world.  Core company members Heather Pearl, Michael O'Neill, Sarah Liane Foster and Tony Fuemmeler are alumni of the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre.  Read more at www.nomadictheatre.org.
