Kyra Sedgwick, Chris Bauer and More to Star in COLUMBUS AND AMSTERDAM Benefit Reading Today, 8/17

Scott Adsit, Chris Bauer, Edie Falco, Dayle Reyfel, and Kyra Sedgwick will star in a benefit staged reading of Drama Desk Award winner and Emmy nominee Eugene Pack's new comedy, Columbus and Amsterdam, which will take place today, August 17 at 8pm at East Hampton's Guild Hall, 158 Main Street. Bob Balaban directs.

The evening benefits Guild Hall and The Felix Organization/Adoptees For Children whose mission is to enrich the lives of children growing up in the foster care system.

In Columbus and Amsterdam, a chance encounter with a woman from their past inadvertently turns upside down the emotional and sexual lives of two Manhattan couples.

Eugene Pack is the creator of the Off-Broadway hit comedy sensation Celebrity Autobiography which won him the Drama Desk Award. The show is currently on a worldwide tour with a rotating line up of performers. Pack is also an Emmy Award-nominated writer and executive producer. He was nominated for Outstanding Writing for Variety, Comedy or Music for "America: A Tribute to Heroes," which won the Emmy for Outstanding Special. Pack is the creator and executive producer of the popular CMT series "DCC: Making the Team," now in its seventh season. He has written and performed the critically acclaimed one man comedy shows The Senior, Something Flexible With Meaning, and Undisputed: My Night with the Queen of Soul. His full-length play Stan The Man, developed at Theatre West, was optioned for the screen and is slated to open in NY next year. Columbus and Amsterdam was workshopped with the Naked Angels at Vassar College's NY Stage and Film Company. Upcoming stage projects include The Whisper and Hitherto. He is a graduate of NYU where he studied with David Mamet and the Practical Aesthetics Workshop and Playwrights Horizons.
