Kudzu Playhouse Continues its A CHRISTMAS CAROL Tradition 12/16

As the longest-running Christmas show in Atlanta, Kudzu Playhouse's adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, has been a holiday tradition in Roswell for 20 years. Even many non-Atlanta residents made it a tradition to come see this wonderful family show, starring Brink Miller ever since 1993. Families would not only attend A CHRISTMAS CAROL, but whole families also made it a tradition to perform in this show for years. However, patrons were devastated last year when they received word that Kudzu would have to close its doors due to no longer being able to afford the lease on the location. However, Wally Hinds, former owner and artistic director of Kudzu Playhouse, is pleased to announce that the tradition will continue. This year, the Kudzu Players will be perform A CHRISTMAS CAROL in a smaller setting- only 45 seats- at Roswell's historic Bulloch Hall. Though the cast is traditionally at least 30 adults and children, this is an intimate six-person, one-hour telling. But it still tells the touching story of the miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge, played again by Brink Miller, who receives visits from the ghosts of Christmases past, present, and future. Also included in this production are Richard Henry, celebrating his 9th season in this show, Ellen Keel, Katie Keel, Bryan Keel, and Richard Omark.

Performances will be at 8pm: doors open and Dickens choir starts singing at 7:30.

The Kudzu Playhouse was located in Roswell and had both a children's theatre and adult theatre, throughout the year, as well as traditional summer theatre camps. It also offered acting lessons year-round for all ages. Kudzu was home to the Southeastern Regional premiere of the hit musical RENT in 2010, which was directed by Andy Meeks. Additionally, many professional actors had their start in high school at the Kudzu Playhouse, including Andrew Durand, Paige Faure, Nick Arapoglou, and more.
