Kirkland Arts Center Presents October ArtLuck 10/29

By:

Kirkland Arts Center will host ArtLuck! on Friday, 10/29, at 6:30 pm with a potluck, invigorating conversation, and a pumpkin carving session.

The focus will be on looking at ways to treat pumpkins as an artistic medium. Attendees are invited to bring a potluck dish, a pumpkin, a set of tools, and their creative minds to play a game of musical pumpkins. Sitting around a carving circle, each participant will be given 15 minutes to add an element to a pumpkin (carve it, paint it, give it character). The pumpkins will be swapped after 15 minutes, carved, swapped again, and carved. After three swaps, everyone will work on a pumpkin for the remainder of ArtLuck, so that by the end of the night each person has an artistic pumpkin to take home.

Attendees should bring a pumpkin, a set of tools, and dish for the potluck. (KAC will have extra pumpkins for those who have forgotten.)

ArtLuck! takes place on the last Friday of each month, facilitated by Tamara Belland. Artists come together to share a meal, discuss art issues, partake in creatively stimulating exercises, or listen to fun art lectures. The potluck begins at 6:30 PM. You may choose to bring main entrees, sides, appetizers, desserts, fruit/veggies, or drinks. Join other artists from various visual arts disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and more.
