Kidstreet Programming Returns At Bay Street Theater

By:

Bay Street Theatre's Fall KidStreet Series returns to Bay Street Theatre, with a season full of music, dance and fun for the entire family. From rollicking tunes to scientific wonderment, KidStreet will have the audience dancing in the aisles from now through Thanksgiving. And with ticket prices ranging from just $10 to $15, moms and dads too will be kicking up their heels.

This Saturday, October 3rd at 3pm, kids will be mesmerized by the sounds and musical effects of accompanist BEN MODEL as he guides the audience through the fun of two silent short films. The first, One Week, features Buster Keaton and his new bride as they build their own dream house. The second short film, Number, Please? finds Harold Lloyd running amuck in an amusement park.

Ben Model has served as resident silent film accompanist for The Museum of Modern Art (Moma) for the past 25 years and he has played in numerous venues around the United States. He composes and improvises all of his own scores, and performs in a style that is evocative of the silent era, while retaining an awareness of a younger audience's tastes and understanding. Adults and children of all ages will be amazed to watch and then hear the action come to life in this ‘new' way. The performance is at 3pm, and all tickets are $10.

The fun continues on Saturday, October 17 at 11am with Bradley True & Friends Silly Science Band, bringing cool concepts in science to life through music, theatrics, and audience participation. On Sunday November 1st at 3pm., Long Island native favorite Brady Rymer & Friends will bring their joyful tunes Bay Street, which the NY Times refers to as "..rock-n-roll with heart." Finally for Thanksgiving Weekend it's everyone's favorite, Hot Peas ‘N Butter on Friday, November 27 with two shows, 1pm and 3pm. What a great way to dance and groove and shake off the extra turkey pounds with the 2008 ‘Parent's Choice Award' winning band. Tickets for these shows are $12 for children and $15 for adults.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.baystreet.org or by calling the box office at 631-725-9500. The box office is located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, and is open daily Wednesday thru Sunday, from 11am till 6pm.

KidStreet is sponsored in part by Suffolk County National Bank, and Suffolk County under the auspices of the Office of Cultural Affairs, Steve Levy, County Executive.

Bay Street Theatre is a not-for-profit institution, dedicated to presenting new, classic and contemporary works of the highest quality, which challenge as well as entertain, speak to the diversity of the community and champion the human spirit. Bay Street's commitment extends to educational programs for all ages to foster the continued value of theatre as a vital art form for future generations.
