Award-winning singer KEVIN DOZIER, who was named ‘Male Performer of the Year' at the 2003 San Francisco Cabaret Competition, will debut his new CD "LOVE-WISE" at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle, 1972 Broadway at 66th Street, on Wednesday, February 18th at 6 PM as part of the ‘Any Wednesday' Series of free concerts.

Kevin made his highly anticipated NYC cabaret debut last June with Musical director/arranger Christopher Marlowe at the piano and played an equally successful return engagement in October. During his 10 years in San Francisco, he headlined at San Francisco's Plush Room, performed at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center, Lush Lounge, and in various benefit concerts including 2 editions of Steve Murray's Viva Variety. He has appeared with such entertainers as Bobby McFerrin, Carmen McRae and Barry Manilow.

"LOVE-WISE", which was recorded at Bennett Studios, includes many of the great love songs from the Great American Songbook:
People Will Say We're In Love - Richard Rodgers/Oscar Hammerstein II
Beyond Compare - David Colin Ross/Marshall Barer
Love-Wise - Kenward Elmslie/Marvin Fisher
On a Slow Boat to China - Frank Loesser
Soon It's Gonna Rain - Tom Jones/Harvey Schmidt
Love Changes Everything - Andrew Lloyd Webber/Charles Hart/Don Black
What's at the End the Rainbow? - Patti Austin
On My Way to You - Michel Legrand/Alan & Marilyn Bergman
Call Me Irresponsible - Sammy Cahn/James Van Heusen
Remember/Always - Irving Berlin
*arrangement by Nancy LaMott & Christopher Marlowe
The Shadow of Your Smile - Johnny Mandel/Paul Francis Webster
Over the Rainbow - E.Y. Harburg/Harold Arlen
Before We Say Goodbye - Tom Andersen/Ian Herman

The CD was Executive Produced by Kevin Dozier for Brannock Productions, Inc. and produced by Christopher Marlowe who also created all the Musical Arrangements. Note the arrangement for the medley "Remember/Always" was originally created for Nancy LaMott by Mr. Marlow and Ms. LaMott but was never recorded.

Kevin is accompanied on the CD by Christopher Marlowe, Piano; John Redsecker, Drums; Dick Sarpola, Bass; Ken Sebesky, Guitar; Peter Sanders, Cello; Sharon Moe, French Horn; Diane Lesser, English Horn; Mark Sherman, Vibes; Glenn Drewes, Cornet; William Galison, Harmonica, and Lawrence Feldman, Tenor Sax. The vocals were produced and directed by Scott Barnes with Frank D. Fagnano as Engineer / Post Production.

Of Kevin's NYC cabaret debut in June, 2008 at Don't Tell Mama, David Hurst of Cabaret Scenes said:

"Dozier has a beautiful, lilting, lyric baritone that throbs with passion and intensity. Wisely, Dozier has surrounded himself with a group of top-notch professionals for his east coast launch, making Introducing Kevin Dozier not only an entertaining product, but a highly polished one too. Smoothly directed by Scott Barnes, Dozier presents a charming, amiable personality combined with patter sprinkled with anecdotes about looking for love as an out, gay man in the new millennium.

Together, Dozier and Marlowe make a formidable musical team and, from his opening of "Gimme, Gimme" (from Thoroughly Modern Millie) to his heartbreakingly beautiful closer, "Before We Say Goodbye" (by Ian Herman and Tom Andersen), confidence and joy radiate out of Dozier and he's a pleasure to watch."

Kevin will be signing his CD following the performance at Barnes & Noble. For more information about Kevin, go to www.kevindozier.com
