IMDB.com is reporting that Katie Holmes, who plays her final performance today in All My Sons is already making plans to return to the Great White Way. The film site reports that she's "bagged the lead" in a musical version of the film Finding Neverland.
The star is said to want to make NY her permanent home after enjoying the success of her Broadway debut in All My Sons. Katie Holmes made her debut in Ang Lee's acclaimed film The Ice Storm, which led to her role in the popular television series "Dawson's Creek." Her other film credits include Disturbing Behavior, Go, Wonder Boys with Michael Douglas, Abandon, Pieces of April, The Singing Detective with Robert Downey Jr., First Daughter with Michael Keaton, Thank You for Smoking, Batman Begins, and Mad Money.
A workshop of the reading took place back in December, directed by Rob Ashford and including Kate Baldwin, Christian Borle, Brian D'Addario, Michael D'Addario, Blythe Danner, Erin Davie, Dalton Harrod, Tom Hewitt, Katie Holmes, Marc Kudisch, Daniel Marconi, Anne L. Nathan, Denis O'Hare, Brynn O'Malley, Clarke Thorell, Jon Patrick Walker and Wayne Wilcox.
The musical has a book by Allan Knee, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie, who last collaborated on Grey Gardens.
Finding Neverland is a 2004 British/American semi-biographical film directed by Marc Forster. The screenplay by David Magee is based on the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee. The story focuses on Scottish writer J. M. Barrie, his platonic relationship with Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, and his close friendship with her sons, who inspire the classic play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.
