NYU Steinhardt's Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions will present a workshop production of the new musical "All The Kids Are Doing It," a contemporary pop-rock musical that explores the reality of young adults today who exploit themselves and others in order to achieve personal gain.

Opening March 28 at the Provincetown Playhouse, located at 133 MacDougal St. near Washington Square, the show features book and lyrics by Kate Thomas and music by Joey Contreras. Steinhardt's John Simpkins directs.

The show tells the story of Emmy Adams, a college transfer student and writing hopeful, who is admitted into Webb University's advanced writing program after spending her entire life in a dead -end South Dakota town. After her professor declares Emmy's writing to be lacking in experience and creativity, Emmy fears that both her writing and life are inadequate. Desperate for writing material and influenced by her new friendship with a fledgling teen starlet, Emmy becomes recklessly embroiled with a campus fraternity and uses that experience as content for her senior memoir writing assignment. Unexpected choices in her writing and her life culminate in an Internet scandal that has the potential to cause irreversible damage.

Performances are March 28-30 at 8:00 p.m. and March 30-31 at 3:00 p.m. For tickets, visit www.nyu.edu/ticketcentral/calendar, call 212.352.3101, or visit ticket central at 566 LaGuardia Place (at Washington Square). Tickets are $15 general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens.
